Look Unto Jesus and Preach the Word
Zach opens with a sermon from Hebrews 12:2 urging the church to fix its eyes on Jesus as the author and finisher of faith, drawing on Spurgeon’s conversion and Peter walking on water to show what happens when believers look to Christ rather than to self or circumstance. Doug then delivers the first of a two-part series from 2 Timothy 3:16 through 4:4, making the case that the church has no choice but to become a Word church, a Bible church, a doctrinal church, because God breathed out every word of Scripture, commanded it to be preached, and the time is now. The service includes four congregational songs and closes with prayer requests and the Lord’s Prayer.
