[music] [music] sisters. Uh to start off the service today, I'll be reading from Isaiah 55 verse 6. Verse 6 to7. [snorts] Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord and he'll have mercy on them and to our God for he'll freely he will freely pardon. And God is near right now. You know, we don't have to wait or or you know, wait on something like that, but he is here in this very moment and we can leave our old ways and thoughts at the door and return to him and he freely pardons everyone who comes. You know, that's how our God is. He's amazing and righteous and forgiving and merciful. Um, but with that being said, let's stand up and pray for the service today. Lord God, we thank you for this amazing morning you've given us, Lord. And we ask you to bless the service, Lord. Fill us with the Holy Spirit, Lord, and bless the singing, Lord. Bless the preaching, God, and help us to learn something new today, Lord. And to not leave empty-handed or forget, Lord, what we are told today, Lord, but to remember it, God, and to leave with something new today. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Amen. Today we'll be singing When We All Get to Heaven. [music] Sing the [music and singing] wonderous love of Jesus. [music] All that I am, all that I [music and singing] have, I lay them down before you, oh [music and singing] Lord. All my regrets, all my [singing] acclaim, the [music] joy and the pain, I'm making [singing] them yours. [music] Lord, [singing] I offer my life to you. Everything I've [music] been through, use it for your glory. [music] Lord, [singing] I offer my days to you, lifting my [music and singing] praise to you as a pleasing [singing] sacriice. Lord, I offer [music] my days to you. Lifting my [singing] praise to you as a pleasing sacriice. [music and singing] Lord, I offer you my [music] life. Praise God. Praise the Lord, brothers and sisters, for this morning. I hope everybody got enough sleep this morning because we got an hour extra. So hopefully everybody remember to change their time this morning. Uh but I want to open up for our Bible reading. I want to open up to Psalms 15 and that'll be page 781. I'll give you guys a little bit time to open up to that uh Psalm Psalm 15 page 781. And it says here, "Lord, who may abide in your tabernacle? Who may dwell in your holy hill? He who walks uprightly and works righteousness and speaks the truth in his heart? He who does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor does he take up a reproach against his friend, in whose eyes a vile person is despised. But he honors those who fear the Lord, he who swears to his own heart and does not ch or to his own hurt and does not change. He who does not put out his money at usury, nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does not who does these things shall never be moved. Praise God. Uh now we'll have Daniel Vanessa sing a song for us. So you guys can come up and then right after that we'll have Pastor Gennady and Pastor Tim uh discuss about the eighth commandment this morning. God bless. When [music] I survey the wonderous [music] cross [singing] on which the prince of [music and singing] glory died. My riches gain. I count but [music and singing] lost and poor [music] content on all my pride. [music] For bey Lord that I [music] should boast save [singing] in the day [music] of [singing] Christ my God. All the things [music] that char [singing] me most, I sacriice [music] them to [music] his blood. [music] See from his hand he [music] sets his feet. Sorrow [singing] and love flow [music] me down. There such love [music] [singing] and sorrowful need [music] for compos [music] [music] [music] of nature. The [music] wording [singing] far too small. [singing] [music] Love so amazing. Love so divine [singing and music] demons my soul. [music] My life my [singing] all. Love so amazing. Love so divine. Demons my soul. [music] My life my praise God. Love so amazing. Love so divine. Imagine being able to build an app with your Yeah. Imagine imagine that. [laughter] Uh beautiful song. And uh before we start our our eighth commandment that we're going one by one until we reach 12. We are almost done. One more month left. Um but before Wow. Why did I say 12? [laughter] Well, I guess I'm adding two more. Yeah. [laughter] Oh, man. Yeah. Yeah. And um so so what we're going to do also is uh because we do have people that watch us online and they're saying, "Hey Tim, like when there's like somebody talking in the audience, we don't hear it." So what we're going to have is if you guys have a question, we'll bring you a microphone. Or if you guys have something to share, we'll bring you a microphone. just raise your hand so the people online can can also hear what you have to say. But before we do that, let's take a few minutes um introduce each other, shake each other's hands um and then we'll get into our eighth commandment. God bless. [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] [music] [music] I still Okay, we are starting the eighth commandment and um that's going to be in Deuteronomy 5 519 which is page 263. You don't have to [clears throat] turn there unless you want to highlight it because it's a very long verse. It's almost as long as Jesus wept, which is the shortest verse in the Bible. Oh, that should have been a quiz, a pop quiz. Correct. 263. You guys can highlight it for yourself, but over here it says, "You shall not steal." You shall not steal. So, I like how Pastor Henry last week before we even started, he he had you guys kind of share what you saw as uh murder and then adultery. And I think we'll go the same route today. What like what do you guys see as stealing? So if you guys want to say Dimma's going to come up with a microphone. Okay. Give it to that brother. Stealing another man's goods, not your own. Okay. Yes. Greg being blamed for something that you didn't do and it's somebody else's fault. Okay. There's something in that. Okay. Anybody else? Uh Michael. I guess you could say like uh like if you break somebody's heart or you steal their feelings or you like wreck somebody's life or something, you know, like Oh, that's a good or manipulation or like stealing somebody's uh I don't know something like that. In other words, you know, like Jack all the way in the back. Ron Dima, you're you're in shape. The mic. You go to gym. Even stealing something as small as like a pack of chicklet gum. Yeah. Okay. Well, we'll start with the definition that I found on Google. Definition of stealing. the action or offense of taking another person's property like we had the the brothers say without permission or legal right and without intending to return it which is also called theft. So there's there's actually multiple forms of stealing. Does does anybody maybe have any clue of what forms of stealing is out there? Religion. Okay. Greg says, uh, religion people want to steal others denominations. Embezzlement. Jack in the back said, embezzlement. Lying and deceiving. Let's uh read first Corinthians 6:9-10. And this is harsh, but this is how God sees thieves. It says, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolattors, nor adulterers." See, like over here how the the ten commandments are mentioned in a way. nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy. Interesting. Nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. It says, "Nor thieves, nor the greedy." Let's look at the negative impacts of stealing. Stealing how we know taking someone's item that they paid for and we went and took it, right? So, the the National Retail Federation, it uh reported in 2022 that retail losses from all types of theft, including shoplifting, employee theft, and fraud, reached 112 billion dollars in 2022. So $112 billion dollar that's just taken from stores. That's not somebody sees a bike outside. Oh, that looks nice. Yes, Greg. Reason for that shopping. Yeah. So over here, Greg said that uh during COVID times uh people were just running in and stealing and it if it didn't exceed a certain amount of dollars, then the the store employees could not chase them down or call the cops because uh for for our reason. So many others. Yes. Okay. Um, one, two. So, and again, when you guys gave your definition what stealing is and a lot of those definitions were correct. Some of those definitions were more philosophical, but when we read in Ten Commandments, um it's pretty much straightforward. Ten Commandments when it talks about also not stealing is just a basic taking goods that does not belong to you actually. And um because any person that maybe would fall for that, they would have a certain excuse or maybe a reason for it. And we'll read in the Bible that there is a reason and some righteous people were praying to God that God would not permit them to come to that. So to make it very straightforward right now, we're just talking about the basic stealing where you're taking the goods of other people and the Bible tells us we should not do that. And I know that uh maybe when we were younger or even now we fall for it. And so we're going to talk about today how not to fall for it anymore any longer because Bible prohibits that. and and Bible tells us if we keep on doing it and aren't not trying to find the way out the thief and those who stealing Bible's very straightforward telling us do not inherit the kingdom of God. So now we all young and old we should learn how to not to do that. And the good thing about it that Bible gives us straightforward answers for that as well. Yes. And uh like in Proverbs 19:1 it says better is a poor person who walks in integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool. And over here stealing it causes damage in relationships right. Um it it uh brings enemies uh because you took somebody's property that that person paid for. Uh maybe a person was saving up all their life for a car or um a bike or whatever it is. Even something small like we heard a pack of gum not saving up for the whole life, but somebody paid for that. and stealing is uh damaging that person's I would say making him your enemy now because you owe him he paid for it you didn't pay for it well and I I also want to add to that when it damages the other person something belonged to the other person you took it that person is hurt but it's also damaging our soul because it changes us now we become those people who are hiding, who after we steal something, we got a lie and we add a sin to a sin. So it changes us. It's not very basic or I took someone else's stuff. It's changing my soul. It's changing who I am and how I conduct. So that's why it's very important. uh even in America slogan where people would want to take it something and they would say hey can I steal it from you I'm like no you cannot steal it but you can take it yes so I I try to teach younger people make sure you don't even use and have that mindset can I steal it no you but you can take it actually learn be straightforward and tell someone if hey can I take maybe can you share it with me be an open person be a person that is uh confident in what you do and if you want something you can ask and if someone said no then I guess it's no there's some people that'll commit murder to steal some people if they got something stolen from them they would kill you because you So Michael was saying there's there's some people who commit murder to steal um and then there's some people who will kill you if you stole something from them. Great situation is when I was growing up as being a thief, but my mom knew that I didn't steal anything, but yet she would always blame me. So, I was called a thief. I wasn't a thief. So, stuff was stolen, but it was on me. So, you characterize that. Yeah. Well, the thing is that you're free from that sin. You never committed it. People can can blame you all they want, but if you didn't commit that sin, you're free before God. And how Pastor Henry said stealing not just has um I would say legal consequences, but even spiritual consequences. And a thief, he can get away from people for a time, right? You can steal something, you can get away, but you will never get away from God. You will stand before him in judgment and he will ask you from all the stuff you stole. So people only deceive themselves thinking that, well, they can get away from man. But if you're clean before God, that's more important than you trying to prove yourself to man. Yeah. Correct. You're free. Yeah. You're free. I think there is someone raising hand or not or no, you just actually. So it it's as long you know that you're correct before God because how our life is only what 70 80 years and then we're gone but then there is eternity. So if we actually stole something and we're able to fool other people or lie to people saying I'm not doing it then the only at the end who is fool is me because then I'm not inheriting the kingdom of God. So now if I'm in a but if I'm not doing that, you know, when I come before God and life is short, yeah, God knows I did not do that. So I did not fool myself. But we're talking here about those who are stealing. And you know even the righteous people there is a righteous person in uh uh the in proverb we read um proverb 38 and9 says remove far from me the falsehood and line give me neither poverty nor riches feed me with the food that is needful for me lest I'll be fool and deny you and say who is the Lord or lest I'll be poor and steal and profane the name of God. So right here a person praying to God because it happens. This is a righteous person is praying to God. Don't make me too rich because when I'm rich I'll forget about you and then at the end I might lose the salvation or make don't make me poor because if I'll become poor then there is a possibility I will steal and I will use your name in vain. So this person is relying on God. God also controls some of those things. And if we are in this situation, if we trying to be by ourself that good person, you know, we all because of the sin of uh Adam and Eve, we're not a good people. It's only because of Christ and because of God, he can give us a strength to overcome our sinful nature. And that's why we should rely on God. Give us a strength and give us enough things in our life so we don't have to do those things so we don't have to steal. So he's praying to God don't make me poor or if I am poor provide for me. And if God provided for me, then I should be satisfied with what I have and not to permit myself to steal. And over here in John 10:10, it says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy." And over here Jesus shows that um John shows that thieves share the same I would say destructive spirit as the devil. So over here when uh John talks about the thief, he talks about the devil because the devil's goal is that you are not saved. He's trying to destroy God's creation and we are God's creation and he is the one that steals the souls from God. He's the thief and that's how God sees the devil. And therefore, if we have that spirit in in us, that's the same spirit of the devil. And and what's interesting what what uh Pastor Tim read right here is that devil is the one that stole the innocence from Adam and Eve. And so he's the father of that sin. So in if I do but in another way maybe I do I take someone else's what belongs to someone else. I pretty much do what devil did even though I'm a person that he stole uh from me something because I belong to God and now he is the one who won. He is the one that going to say well this person belongs to me. So now by the power of Jesus Christ we should destroy the things of devil and how we can destroy that. If I was part of that sin I know that devil is the one that brought this and he's the only one that is happy. So I should start praying to God like this righteous man was praying and I should not do those things and that's how I start destroying the power of devil by not following of things to do things that he was doing it. So that's how we actually start going against the kingdom of devil by not doing the things that he want us to do. Hopefully that's understandable. Yes. Yes. Great. Jesus got crucified. There was like two other crosses. There was three crosses and one. Yeah. Yes. What do you say to that? So he he was he was not the fifth. He was even more he was um yeah thief or murderer. But anyway, what's interesting is that when he actually was on a cross and he said, "Remember me when you'll come to the heaven." That person understood that here is the savior of the world. He's the he's here is the innocent person and he's dying for us. And now when he saw Jesus Christ, he acknowledged of all of his things that he was wrong because he told to the other thief on the cross that we are here because we are we deserve to be here but he is not. And so now he's acknowledging of all his wrongdoings and then he goes to Jesus Christ remember me. He's that's that's asking for forgiveness. That's turnurning himself 180 degrees because now if that thief would be given a life to live, he would not be a same person. So very important when we actually were part when we were doing that sin, we acknowledging it. We asking for Jesus Christ to forgive us and we turn around and we don't do those things anymore. The good thing about is just is that when we acknowledge Jesus Christ forgives us and changes us, so we're not be the same people anymore. Yeah. Well, we're not going to Well, we already touched upon this point, but I heard this one little joke. I don't know if it's a joke or if it's real, but uh this man he put out like he had a couch and so he put out a couch uh and he put a sign free and nobody was picking up that couch and so he decided, you know, I'm going to put a dollar on it. So he puts a dollar on it and next day he wakes up that couch is gone. So it's been stolen. So, so, [laughter] so somebody, you know, doesn't want things free, but if it's a dollar, they're they're willing to steal it or or if it has a value. Yeah. [laughter] Has value. And that's uh how we talked about just now. That's the spirit of the devil. He's a thief. He's stealing souls from God. Um, and that's the same destructive spirit that man has, and we need to conquer it. And God, he's the one who gives us that power to conquer that sin. But also another theft that that we might really not think about, it's stealing work time. And this is actually really big because nobody actually thinks about this. But the Bible, it says in Colossians 3:23- 24, if you want to write that down, Colossians 3:23-24, it says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for human masters." See, this person is working for a human master. But look what it says again. Whatever you do, work with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for human master. Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward, it is the Lord Christ you are serving. And what do we see over here? When we work, we're not just working for the human masters, but we are representing God. And since we are representing God, he's looking at us how we are working for our human masters. And he blesses us where the human masters see that, okay, this man is a hard worker. you know, I'm going to promote him. I'm going to give him a bonus. And I've I've actually like why I know this is because I've seen it in my life where uh there was a manager in my job and he was a really hard worker. Nobody had to tell him. Well, before he was not a manager, he was just a regular worker, but he was working hard. He was there the first, leaving the last. Nobody even asked him. And he's doing work for three people. And the owners, they saw that. And they made him a manager on the entire warehouse. So, there's blessings in working hard, but there's also instances where we could steal time, meaning that we're taking one hour bathroom breaks. Yeah. 30 minute bathroom breaks. Or sometimes I even seen where, you know, like we thought a person was dead or something and we opened the bathroom door and he's sleeping. [laughter] [sighs] you know. Yeah. You know, and and that's a big issue among the younger generation. But let's change the word masters. Let's change to just manager or bosses because it's an old word and so we don't have masters right now, but we do have managers and owners and bosses. And um so the there is a there is an issue in this time but you know when a manager comes in younger people would or any person would show that I'm working when no one is looking if I'm slack enough I got to understand but God sees that and you're thinking well God I mean how can he reward me for it? But the things thing is is that God knows and sees it who actually is a good worker and if even a manager don't see it but God gives an understanding and maybe kind of um yeah an understanding who is a good person who's doing well and in the end result the good person will get promoted. it. So, you may fool some people some of the time, but you're not going to fool them all the time, actually. So, if you want to be blessed, you got to understand that God is the one that watching over my blessing. So, now when I'm working, I'm a good worker. Not because someone is overseeing and I'm just trying to fool him. I'm actually trying to be that right person before God. And when I'm right person before God, God will actually promote me. So this is the character that who I am. And when God sees that that person is a good working person, I need him to be a manager or I need him to be also a business owner because it will be good for the society. and and guts are promoting those people. Yes, Greg. [snorts] Well, praise God. Praise God. Praise God. Greg was just saying that he's uh he loves working at his job, Goodwill, and he's just saying that the atmosphere is off the chain. Good. [laughter] Amen to that. And over here, [clears throat] the words of Jesus, Matthew 25:21, his Lord said to him, "Well done." So this is Lord saying to that worker, "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. enter into the joy of your Lord. And [clears throat] in in here I want to just add the few things in uh English translation may be misleading some people. The the real meaning of there you have been faithful in little things. Little things. What it is is that well maybe I'm working at Goodwill. Well, who cares? That's not a big thing to be faithful there to work hard is it that important or maybe I do something someone gave me a job uh even volunteering and I'm faithful in that that's a little things little things make me who I am and you pastor Tim read how greatly God rewards those little things actually. Yeah. And uh sometimes when you just start working, you're not going to get the manager position right away, right? You got to prove yourself. And usually you're the one that's taking out the garbage, um mopping the floor, and it's like, why am I doing this? This is but no if you stay like the Bible says if you stay diligent in that faithful in the little things then God will start promoting you and like in life over here but also in the spiritual life because that's how we actually store treasures in heaven and the Bible says we are the representatives of God. When all the people around us see, man, this guy is working hard and then they know that you're a Christian, that just makes the the image of God that much bigger. Like, wow. He's a Christian and hardworking man. And God loves that. So, God loves a hard and faithful worker. And and I want to also reinforce not everyone is physically like can be very fast at work and maybe do more work than everyone else. That's not what it's talking about because some people are physically much faster. But diligent it's mean that you are trying. Maybe maybe you're not as fast as someone else but you trying diligently. That's what God rewards. It's not how much you done, it's how hard you're trying to be good at your work. And also I remember uh like in the beginning someone mentioned stealing someone's work and that's also there's a word for it called plagiarism. That's that's obviously stealing somebody's writings uh claiming as your own. Uh like we actually see that sadly in a lot of places and sometimes even in the church. You'll see the same sermon preached by 20 preachers and you're like wait what? You know what's going on here? But um but also um like if we are going to use somebody's work, we just have to mention their name. you know, you give them the credit credit. And um that like in the I would say business world there's there's a lot of large companies constantly taking, you know, secrets and all that stuff. That's also stealing, you know, taking secrets from another uh research and development and stuff like that. but they don't see it as that until they get a lawsuit. So, so anything of that sort could be stealing. Um, and God sees that as stealing also stealing from God. This is an interesting one. Uh, because in Malachi 3:89 it says, "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you ask, "How do we rob you in tithes and offerings? You are accursed with a curse. Yet the whole nation are still robbing me." And we see over here, Israel was receiving uh blessings from the Lord and they were just all using it for themselves. [snorts] And God doesn't need our 10 $20. He He created uh this whole earth, right? But but he wants us to to also not think about only ourselves. meaning that like you have an extra shirt, an extra jacket, maybe some money, go and help. Don't just live me, me me, give me give only to me. And in a sense, that's what's stealing from God. I don't know if Pastor Henry wants to add anything to that. We don't only live for ourselves. Yes, Greg. Even if you have somebody that you have the only keep it to yourself. Okay. Yes sir. So of course when God bless us and we have abundance then from that we give to God. If we don't have something then God is not requiring anymore. It's only when God gives you, he requires that you also use maybe the 10th percent either helping other people, helping missionaries, do some kind of work because that way we also rely on God. But in the New Testament, we believe that if you yourself have no short or you have one short, then you cannot give that to someone else because it's only says if you have two and the other person shortless, well, give him that one. So that's what Bible requires. Bible is is very practical and there is nothing kind of over the board and so therefore you just share it. Yeah. So that's why um we have to learn how to trust God in that and when he blesses us we can bless other people as well. Yeah. Yeah. And uh kind of how we saw the last slide, when we um give to God, that means we give to to others, to those in need. Um and when we do that, it pleases the Lord because everybody's helping each other and and that's what God wants to see. If we have 10 shirts and the person is shirtless and we don't even give him one, that's stealing from God. Like, help a brother, help a sister. You see them in need, help them out. And and and why is it considered to be stealing from God? If I have 10 shirts and there is a shortless brother because we got to realize that God is overwatching everything and he's the one that blessed me with those 10 shorts and this is just an example. Yeah. And he gave me so I can share with someone else and because God gave that to me to share with someone else and I said nuhuh. It's all for me. Does it make sense that it's stealing from God? Yes, it is. Yeah. And that's how it's with money and with everything else. We think, oh, no, I worked, but other people also worked. But because God did not bless them so much, they don't have so much. But if God blessed me so much with extra, there is a reason why he did that. And he's expecting that I able to help other people. And sometimes I say, "No, it's all for me anyway." Yes, Jose. Oh, uh, Jose first and then. Yeah. Jose in the back. There is someone raised the hand. Yeah. Sure. Okay. Okay. I have a really good example of someone who Hey Dimma, can you give him a mic? uh has lived their lives helping others has been very much of an inspiration to many many people. It's my wife when she was younger when she first came to America they uh um you want to tell the story? Yeah. This is amazing. When I was 12 years old, I was sponsored, my family and I were sponsored to come to America and they put us behind a church and next door neighbor was a custo when he went over there to clean the church, he allow me to come inside the church to play piano or whatever. My brother and I would run around the whole church. We had many, many stories up. And one day I went in one of the classroom and I saw a plate of of money. And uh I stole that money and every day for about a whole month or two months, I went down the street and bought ice cream every day for five cents. And I went to church, but I really didn't know God that much. Um, and as I got older, I confessed my sins and God forgave me. And I thought, well, I'm going to do something good. I'm going to give back that money that I stole at the church. And so, I found a really nice box and I put $50 in there. I'm sure I didn't steal that much, but to me those coins and dollar bills looked like a lot of money. So, I took that money and I dropped it off the church. I didn't want anybody to see me. I was still a little embarrassed of what I did in that church. And I wrote a note and I said that I stole the money when I was 12 years old and I want to give it back. And then my mother passed away and a minister came in and I said, "Oh, you're the minister from that church?" He says, "Yes." "Oh, I got to share you this story about what I did." And uh put the money back, the money that I stole. And he said, "Are you the are you the person that stole that money and gave gave the money back? Did you know I share that in church? [laughter] And I thought it was the homeless that stole the money because they had a lot of homeless people coming to that church. Well, because of what I did, I want to show goodness out of that. And one day, I told my husband, I want to take I forget it was $50 or $100 worth of $5 bills. and I bought a bunch of candy bars and my husband went out to the to the downtown to different locations and I just gave people that were uh homeless the money and the main feedback I got from them was, "God bless you for doing this for me." Yes. So, we gave them each a $5 bill and a candy bar. And that's a beautiful story. He made it even sweeter with a candy bar. Yeah. Okay. So, you never know. You never Well, we're going to be ending right here. But in John 19, it says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." And if we have committed this sin and never repented from it, Jesus forgives. and uh have we heard repentance is turning away from that sin and doing it no longer. So, let's stand up and pray. Lord God, we thank you so much for this time, God, and that we could talk about the eighth uh commandment, Lord. And God, I I ask for you to uh cleanse us and forgive us if we have sinned, this sin, Lord God, wash us clean, God, and help us to do it no more. Give us the strength to to overcome this urge or desire to steal, Lord God, and to uh trust in you that you will provide. Bless everybody that's here. May this word enter into our hearts and transform our lives in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. And in the end we'll be singing great is thy faithfulness.
