You Shall Not Murder: The Sixth Commandment
Pastors Tim and Henry work through the sixth commandment, You shall not murder, showing how Jesus traces murder back to its root in hatred and envy in the heart, so that even unspoken hatred makes us guilty before God. They distinguish murder from killing in self-defense, weigh the cost of abortion, suicide, and violence against God’s gift of life, and point to the only way out: repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation through Christ, who forgave his enemies from the cross. The congregation sings He Is Exalted, The Savior Is Waiting, and The Old Rugged Cross, and the service closes in prayer for needs and the Lord’s Prayer.
