Fight or Flight: What the Bible Says to Flee and What to Fight For
This service centers on what the Bible calls believers to run from and what to stand and fight for. A guest speaker works through 1 Timothy 6, naming four things Scripture commands us to flee: the love of money, sexual immorality, idolatry, and youthful lusts. He then traces three things worth fighting for: personal faith, the faith of others through prayer and gospel witness, and unity within the church. Earlier in the service a brother delivers a shorter word on humility from Proverbs 22:4, showing through Nebuchadnezzar’s story that pride leads to a fall while humility yields riches, honor, and life. Worship includes ‘How Vast the Love,’ ‘Oh My Soul,’ ‘Lord I Offer My Life to You,’ a group’s performance of ‘I Know My Savior,’ and the closing ‘Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart.’
