Thankful in All Circumstances

e e e e e e praise God brothers and sisters I'm thankful for this Podium for these microphones we hit so often with our hands for you guys' beautiful faces and most of all for Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins um so I'd like to read from Psalms chapter 100 verse4 enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise give thanks to him and praise His name there's so much we can be thankful for you know even though there's a lot of pain that we go through in this life a lot of difficulties there's still somebody who has it worse than you you know and there's at least one thing in your life every day that you can thank God for and today is that day we can realize it all think on it and just praise God for everything that he's done for us so with that being said let's stand up and pray Lord God we thank you for this morning you've given us God for another day we're able to wake up to Lord for this country we're able to live in God for everything that you give us every day of Our Lives Lord for Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins Lord we're so thankful and grateful to you God and we thank you for the holy spirit that you left for us on on this read a Bible verse but before I do that uh I just want everybody to think about what they're thankful for today you know cuz I don't know about you but today uh as we all know we're celebrating our Thanksgiving service I me we all got to be thankful to God for that is his will and um I want to read in Psalm 100 verse 4-5 and it says here enter his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise give thanks to him bless his name for the Lord is good his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations praise God and I also want to announce our program for this morning we'll have brother Tim singing us a song and then right after that he'll double up and sing a sermon right after that God bless well while we get set up um I wanted to share a little story about this song that I'm about to seeing the the author of this song it is no secret was written by steuart Hamlin and he was battling alcoholism and like alcoholism took took everything from him but when he turned his life to Jesus he said in an instance he left at all and uh one of his friends one of his uh previous friends uh like offered him hey let's go let's go have a drink and he's like no I gave my life to Christ and he said in about six minutes he wrote this song so uh I'll be singing [Music] the Chimes of time bring out the news another day is through someone slipped and fell was that someone you you may have longed for added strength your courage to renew do not be disheartened for I bring news to you it is no secret what God can do what he's done for others he'll do for for you With Arms Wide Open he Parton you it is no secret what God can do there is no night for in his light You'll Never Walk Alone always feel at home wherever you may ro there is no power can conquer no secret what God Can Do With Arms Wide Open he pardon you it is no secret what God can do praise the Lord well I think um brother Vlad already said my entire sermon in two minutes um you know the Bible tells us about being thankful you know and uh Thanksgiving is coming up and I believe and I know that this holiday it reminds all of us how things thank ful we ought to be how thankful we ought to be sometimes being so busy with everything in life that is going on we forget to look up and say thank you Lord thank you Lord for this wonderful day it's it's easy you know to be thankful for the good and whenever we receive it's very easy to be thankful and even then people forget to thank God when it's all going good it's all wonderful people forget to thank God but it is also very difficult to thank him when we're going through through something hard but I believe that in the hardest moments of Our Lives when we are able to thank God that's when it counts the most not when life is good but when life is hard if we are able to find things that we are thankful for that is when it counts the most I would like for us to open up to first Thessalonians first Thessalonians chapter 5 I'll be reading verse 16 over here it says Rejoice sometimes pray continually give thanks in some circumstances wait wait a second is yeah what Bible translation am I reading right let me try this again Rejoice always pray continually give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus not sometimes not in some things but always Ephesians chapter 5 verse 20 kind of goes along the lines you don't need to open that but I'll just read it real quick giving thanks always for everything to God the father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ always give thanks always you know sometimes we could wonder how can I give thanks to God in my life I'm going through so much right now you might have lost your home you might have lost your job you might have lost somebody whom you loved it could be your father your mother your child your brother your sister maybe in life you went through a lot of abuse and those memories they haunt you today and you ask God lord how can I be thankful I have so much grief in my heart I have so much pain your Bible says to be thankful always but I've been through way too much you know the Bible has a perfect story for us a perfect story that will teach us how to be thankful always in all circumstances and this is the story of job job was a righteous man right those who know the story of Job we know that the Bible says he was a righteous man he loved God he loved God and he was a wealthy man he had 10 children very successful they say that he was the most influential man in the country of Arabia I'm just wondering like who who do we know that that this day has a lot of influence in our lives or not just in our lives but in this world we know some people write like Bill Gates the owner of Microsoft uh obviously everybody knows Elon Musk of Tesla why are they influential you know money gives power they're they're influential and people look up to them people use them as examples and when they be want to become successful or prosperous they tried to look up to them but these these people that I said Bill Gates El and musque they don't know Christ but job did he was a righteous man who loved God and there came a time where God decided to test him God decided to test job's love how much do you love me you know know and we know this story super well but those that don't go and read the book of job if you don't know what you think the Lord for go read the book of Job um so just before I I get into it I don't have much time but I'm going to I'm going to share a little bit as I say Snippets but so Satan he comes to heaven to God and there and Satan is saying listen I I've been like through everybody through everywhere you know and God says have you seen my servant job you know we know that story and and so Satan tells God the reason why job serves you it's not because he loves you it's because you give him all this stuff I bet you anything if you take away what he has he will curse you he will hate you and there's a challenge that God sets before the devil he says take away everything he has all his possessions and let's see and over here we read uh Job chapter 1 vers 13- 22 job 1: 13-22 now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating so over here we're already uh Satan's already working to destroy the life of job now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking in their oldest brother's house and a messenger came to job and said The Oxen were playing and the donkeys feeding beside them when the when the sabians raided them and took them away indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword and I alone have escaped to tell you while he was still speaking another also came and said the fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them and I alone have escaped to tell you while he was still speaking another also came and said the the calans came in three bands and raided the camels and took them away yes and killed the servants with the edge of the sword and I alone have escaped to tell you while he was still speaking another also came and said your sons daughters were eating and drinking in their oldest brother's house and suddenly great wind came from across the Wilderness and struck the four corners of the house and it fell on the young people and they are dead and I alone have escaped to tell you then job arose tore his robe and shaved his head and he fell to the ground and worshiped and said naked I came from my mother's womb and naked shall I return there the lord gave and the Lord has taken away blessed be the name of the Lord in all this job did not sin nor charge god with wrong you know we have some of us heard this like story many times and it already since it's kind of repetitive it's like oh you know job did well you know good job job you know but I'm like you know if if I put myself in his shoes if I put myself in J shoes I wake up on a beautiful Monday morning I make myself my coffee and I get a phone call hey Tim we came to work and it's empty somebody stole all the product and then another one while this guy is still talking another one calls me and says Tim I came to your warehouse and it's burned down I be like oh my goodness what's happening well you know good thing I have insurance and then the third person calls me Tim I called the insurance company and they said it was expired and they're not going to cover anything that you have and my heart soaks in Lord what am I going to do what is happening God and while I'm still thinking I get a phone call is this Tim yes your daughter ran out on the street after school and she gets hit by a car and her and your son and your youngest daughter runs after her too and they get hit and they are all dead I lost my job my company my children what's the point of life whatever job was going through with his wife the pain was unbearable I would rip my clothes just like job did but would I worship God and say Lord I came naked into this world and naked will I go or would I start accusing somebody someone why weren't you there why didn't you pick them up on time or would I Bow Down and Worship my Lord you know over here job sets the ultimate example of when you said go God above all this is not a one-day process you don't just said God above above everything you have in one day it's a relationship that was built over time it said job was a righteous man he was building that relationship with God and he knew that everything God gave him including his children was his was a gift from God then job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell to the ground and worshiped him and he said naked I came from my mother's womb and naked shall shall I return how was job able to Worship the Lord like we talked about he was building he he he lived a righteous life right the the Bible says but there are many people who live a righteous life but when they lose something they turn the other way as if that was all they had we see over here you know sometimes I think well you know if if I lost my job my company that's materialism you know I can get a job somewhere else but my kids why my kids that's the Flesh of My Flesh The Blood of My Blood that's the one whom I raised that's the one who I held from the from birth why God did you take them away from me but job did not curse God instead he worshiped him you see it doesn't matter if you believe in God or not if you're a Christian or not in this broken world a world where there is sin and evil we all face we will all face pain and suffering doesn't matter matter how close you are with God or how far away everybody will suffer that's why God promises us something something great something beautiful and that's Heaven yet the Bible says so few will find it so few will find it that road to heaven for a believer you know like what's the difference suffering being a Christian and suffering being an unchristian for a believer that suffers there is hope there's an assurance that life is life is not the end a Believer knows that Jesus Christ will one day return into take him or her to Heaven his people will rejoice and a Believer holds on to that he has an assurance that one day God will wipe away every tear he will remove every pain and so a Believer knowing that he goes through his pain GS his trials like a soldier in a great battle but in unbeliever walks through life without hope or any type of assurance they turn to people for help but soon they realize that nobody can help them so they are left alone trying to battle their struggles on their own which then leads to all sorts of drugs and alcohol and medication or other temporary I'll say remedies just to survive another day job had every every reason to lose hope yet he did not he knew who gave him all it was God and when we are able to set God above all we are able to thank Him in all circumstances job 27 so Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and strug and struck job with painful sores from the sole of his food to the crown of his head then his wife said to him do you still hold fast to your integrity Curse God and die not only did the devil take everything he had his wealth his children but he also took his health you know you would think like I mean how much can a man endure how much can a man endure would I be able to endure all of that and still praise my God would I be able to you know some people J they judge job's wife what a horrible woman she cursed she told job to curse God and die what an unbeliever but you know I put I put my wife in her shoes and I'm like I know my wife she would die for her kids she loves them that much and to see all her kids that she raised that she fed that she took care of to just one day disappear one day die and never to see them again I know she loves God I know she loves God more than them but that would be a lot of pain she would have to go through that would be a lot of pain that I would have to go through that would be a lot of pain that all of us would go through because losing the ones who we love the most on this Earth losing them sometimes we feel like what's the meaning of life and the pain that that job's wife was was going through was unbearable so when people say job's wife what a horrible woman well you can't judge her unless you yourself put your wife in her shoes or unless you are in her shoes but even then we know that she was wrong she was wrong for telling job to to curse God but my dear friends these days these days how how sad is it to see that people deny Jesus Christ for far less they deny God for for far less they lose their job oh where is God Where's God you know somebody turns their back on them oh I don't know God how' you allow that how' you allow that for far less they deny Christ they deny Christ not losing some deny Christ not losing anything they deny him to gain to gain a promotion at work to sign a contract they'll deny Christ just to get the deal done they deny Christ they sell their Souls how we know like the musicians the movie stars they deny Christ for what for fame for popularity for money but the Bible says Those Who gain the world but lost Christ they lost it all they lost it all and I will be shorten my sermon but at the end through all the pain and the struggles that job went through he praised God and God restored it all not the same but the Bible says He restored double double of everything what job had God restored double my dear friend you might be asking asking Lord you know I've been I've been asking for Freedom I'm struggling with this I'm struggling with something in life I've been praying to you but you're not answering me Lord God I'm struggling to pay my bills I'm struggling to get a job I'm I'm struggling to to live I'm struggling with addiction and I cry out to you but you do not answer me where are you let's try one thing today let's try this thank God for what you have thank God for what you already have when my child when I give them things and all they want is more more more I stop giving them because they're not thankful for with what they have but when a child is than thankful when I give them something they're thankful thank you Daddy I love you you take care of me you're the best dad in the world my heart softened towards them I want to give them more I want to bless them when they ask I give so instead of always trying to receive thank God for what you have today and when you are thankful in the small things God God will give you what you've been asking for in jesus' name amen let's pray Lord God we thank you for this wonderful morning God Lord God and we're celebrating Lord Thanksgiving Lord God and help us all understand God how important it is to thank you even when we are going through something hard Lord and we're crying out to you God we've been praying to you and you haven't been answering but teach us to be thankful for what we have Lord God so then you can give us for what we ask Lord bless each person here in Jesus name amen and the last song we'll be singing is the song called Thank You new uh friends after service we'll come down to the gym and there will be some uh breakfast and some coffee for us you know and we can get to know each other but um I just want to say my dear friends that there's there's something that we can be thankful for there's always something that we can be thankful for for and when we have a thankful heart then God soften his heart towards us so be thankful in the morning be thankful for a beautiful day be thankful you know and you will see how God will start working in your life and with those words uh does anybody have any needs that we can pray about any struggles any pains any hurts if not then let's pray Lord God we thank you for this wonderful morning Lord God it's it's such a beautiful day Lord may you bless each Soul here Lord God Lord God we're thanking you today we're praising you God for being such a wonderful God Lord God you take care of us even though we might lose everything Lord God but if we have you we have it all Lord Jesus thank you God for all your blessings in jesus' name amen Our Father in heaven Hallowed Be Your Name Your Kingdom Come your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us lead us not into temptation but Deliver Us from the evil one for your kingdom your power and Glory forever are yours amen be
